Working for A2 Hosting, a green friendly hosting company, I can’t help but think of ways to improve our environment. One of the ways that I came up with recently was the donation of obsolete computers. OK. OK. I know that this isn’t a new thought, but I know I have always been hesitant to donate my computer because of the personal information that could be found on it. The benefits of donating a computer are huge, mainly allowing someone less fortunate to have access to a computer and it also prevents the computer from rotting away in some landfill for years and years. These benefits are too important to worry about someone stealing some private information. That’s why I searched for a couple of FREE programs that easily delete a computer’s private information. I found two, Blancco Data Cleaner and WipeDrive. Check these programs out if you are thinking about donating your obsolete computer!
