10 Easy Free Ways To Promote & Optimize Your Site

8. Properly name each page – If you are adding a page about kittens to your site, name the page “Kittens” not “Page 1”. This will be much more helpful when search engines spider your site, thus making your site even more keyword rich.
9. Submit your site to relevant directories- Let Google help you with this. I needed to submit this site to web hosting directories so I searched “web hosting directories” within Google. Do the same for your site depending on the topic of the site. I stay away from sites I have to pay for and that ask for reciprocal links because I notice many will never list your site and merely enjoy the PageRank vote you just gave them. The content you give to directories should be enough for them to list you.
10. Keyword Link Backs – Anytime you get the opportunity to link back to your page from another site, make sure to use major keywords in the text of the link.
